In response to the growing trend for companies to rely on contract manufacturing, Global MetalForm has increased its own in-house capabilities and developed strategic alliances that allow turnkey production of a wide variety of mechanical, electrical and electronic assemblies.
Global MetalForm assumed total responsibility of material procurement, planning, assembly and logistics for this product line of a major east coast manufacturer. In doing so, Global MetalForm allowed its customer to free up critical capacity in bottleneck areas for new products it was bringing to market. Global MetalForm fabricates, paints and silk-screens the sheet metal chassis and performs the assembly and test of the electronic components. Once complete, Global MetalForm ships the product in customer labeled containers to a central warehouse. Computer Enclosures Global MetalForm has been a leading producer of computer enclosures since the introduction of the earliest IBM personal computers in the mid 1980s. Among the products we continue to provide is a family of standard enclosures. Global MetalForm fabricates, paints or plates the sheet metal components of the enclosures. Assembly of the parts into the finished enclosure includes the addition of power supplies, cooling fans, indicating lights and control panels with the option to integrate motherboards. Our SYMIX ERP system allows us to effectively manage material flow. Our ISO 9001 certified operating procedures ensure consistent, high quality output. Custom Metal Enclosures Global MetalForm uses the latest in Computer Aided Design and Computer Aided Manufacturing systems. Combined with the skill of our engineers and manufacturing planners, Global MetalForm is able to produce complex, tight tolerance custom enclosures that meet the most rigorous standards. The photo to the top right shows a custom HVAC enclosure being manufactured from high-grade stainless steel for a leading provider of transit car systems. The complex fixturing designed by Global MetalForm, combined with tight process control, allows this all-welded enclosure comprised of over 300 parts, to hold tight tolerances. Above right (bottom) is high-end rack enclosure, manufactured to exacting specifications for an international provider of telecom equipment. A rigid, all-welded tubular steel frame encloses a precision-formed card cage, keyboard tray and control panel, and power supply enclosure. Global MetalForm fabricated all the metal parts shown. Concurrent engineering efforts with the customer’s design team led to modifications of the reversible door resulting in an improved design at a lower cost. |
